Summer of Slow

Week 2: A story of a bouquet

P.S. If you missed the original Summer of Slow journal entry you can see it here and get started with your own slow summer! xoxo, Zara

How I slowed down in Week 2 of Summer:

Apply for something that is a stretch

I thought I did this week, but I am realizing it wasn’t really too much of a stretch. It would be amazing if I got it, but not incredibly surprising / a shock / something crazy. So back to the drawing board (my vision board + google search) to see what I can come up with next.

Call you friend on a Monday night

We did it again, planned a weekend trip to see each other in a few weeks <3

a good journal is a reader-supported publication. To support this work, consider becoming a paid subscriber. Thank you <3

Bring your neighbor a bouquet

Theo cut the zinnias and we brought a bouquet to mommy (me), the bathroom (to surprise Lila), our children’s librarian, and a neighbor we’ve seen but never really met.

Go to the library for a non fiction book

Still reading both Second Life and Girl on Girl. I didn’t really think about what the books were both about when I reserved them from the library - didn’t realize I’d get them at the same time and read them side by side. OOOF. Will have to share my thoughts on both when I finish. Let’s just say here, it’s indescribable how women get up every day in this country, that has been *designed* to hurt, quiet, and belittle them, and live their lives.

Have you tried any of these activities to slow down? Let me know here with a comment!
